How you can help...

As you read this, thousands of men, women, and children living in the migrant camp in Matamoros, Mexico are increasingly vulnerable to the risks related to COVID-19. Social distancing and quarantine are not possible in refugee camps. The local hospital has limited resources, and is currently unable to take on any patients that are not "critical". As such, Global Response Management staff and volunteers have been working around the clock to conceive and implement an evidence-based response to a potentially deadly outbreak.

Our goal is to set up a 20 bed field hospital at the south end of the camp to support asylum seekers/refugees who become ill and need a higher level of treatment.

1. Prevention: Providing culturally appropriate community education about the virus and precautions in camp.

2. Fortification: Identifying high risk individuals and making sure that we elevate their baseline status. We are also covering the camp with vitamin supplements.

3. Treatment: Isolating with tent checks by staff and setting up a field hospital when city hospital is full.

We ask for your consideration and support. The Global Response Management mission aims to provide the best possible medical care to our most vulnerable communities. We can help, and so can you! Please share this message with the world. Thank you!
